The ground level has one 3 piece ensuite and 3 other bedrooms serviced by a 3 piece bathroom, kitchen and 3 separate entrances. The upper level has two separate bedrooms; a 2 piece ensuite bedroom and a 4 piece ensuite bedroom with jetted tub. Also the upper level has a kitchen, dining room, living room and 2 sliding glass doors accessing the large covered patio. A staircase entrance services the patio from the covered carport.
The Bed & Breakfast has been operating for over 10 years with steady growth, with all the expansion plans for Stewart, this operation is ideally located, A short 5 blocks from a migrating bird sanctuary and estuary at the foot of the Portland Canal on the Pacific Ocean. The Portland Canal is Canada’s ‘most northern ice free port’ and supports a wide range of recreational activities, including deep sea fishing, sea kayaking, prawn and crab fishing off the community dock and bird watching on the community board walk which spans across the tidal flats and estuary. Try your luck in the fall for coho salmon in the Bear River or kayak through the majestic Bear Lake or head up into the mountains with your snowmobile for world renowned sledding around Stewart, with an average 30 feet of snowfall annually conditions are second to none. The District of Stewart is host to a variety of festivals including International days & Stewart Annual Arts and Bear Festival. There are a number of excellent hiking trails, recreation sites and endless outdoor recreational possibilities. The drive from Stewart into Hyder, Alaska is only 4 km and would be considered a must when travelling to Stewart. If you find yourself in Stewart/Hyder in July or August be sure to take the self-guided auto tour to Salmon Glacier and Berendon Glaciers north of Stewart. Visit Alaska’s very own Tongass National Forest where there is a fully functional Grizzly and Black Bear viewing platform at Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site which is sure to please all who arrive. From “The friendliest ghost town” the Granduc service road heads north along the Salmon River passing by a number of historic mining sites, Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site, Salmon Glacier (the fifth largest glacier in North America) and comes to an end some 40km at the old Granduc Mine site at the foot of the Berendon Glacier and the head of the Bowser River in the Happy Valley. The Granduc copper mine area received recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's record snowfall in 1973 for a recorded snowfall that year of 1199 inches or 40 feet!
